Ch-ch-changes
With New Mexico upending Nevada this past week and also Nevada crushing Utah State sparked a lot of changes in the latest power rankings.
To no one’s shock, the Wolf Pack are still number one but it is no longer a unanimous pick as Fresno State and New Mexico each snagged a first-place vote.
The Lobos leap was huge going from sixth to third where the school jumped Utah State which dropped to fourth after going 1-1 this past week.
The voters also propped up Boise State to fifth from seventh after its dominant win over a San Diego State team which is struggling mightily under Brian Dutcher’s second year as head coach.
While UNLV has fared well in league play by starting off 2-0, but New Mexico and Boise State winning in dominant fashion pushed the Rebels down one spot to sixth this week.
These rankings go through games played from Dec. 31 – Jan. 5
