Fresno State gets all of the first place votes

Fresno State has secured all of the first-place votes afters its win over San Diego State this past weekend. The Bulldogs are also the highest-ranked team from the Mountain West in the initial College Football Playoff rankings at No. 23.

The recent play and victory over previously undefeated San Diego State had our staff cementing those Bulldogs at the top. They have already defeated Nevada in addition to the Aztecs to sit atop the West Division with a single loss.

The top three had a shake up with Aztecs going from No. 1 to the third spot with Nevada sandwiched in between. Those two will play each other in Week 11 and make their case for the second spot; that is assuming they win their games this Saturday.

Wyoming keeps falling and has now lost four in a row and is 10th in our rankings after being in contention for a top spot back in early October. They face rival Colorado State who has been playing much better of late for the Bronze Boot.

One interesting note in the rankings has Utah State is just a few points ahead of Air Force despite the Aggies owning the head-to-head matchup. Utah State has the better loss to a higher ranked BYU compared to the Falcons loss to San Diego State. Perhaps voters are not liking the Boise State beatdown that the Aggies received at home earlier in the year.
