How much did bowl season change things?

Minor shuffling

The final power rankings of the weird 2020 Mountain West football season are in the books. There were very few chances for teams to make a move as just three went bowling.

Hawaii and Nevada were victorious over a pair of AAC teams but San Jose State suffered its first loss in the Arizona Bowl to Ball State. The Spartans were very short-handed without five starters and both of its coordinators.

The loss did not impact the Spartan’s end of season ranking as they still finished No. 1 and secured all of the first-place votes. While Boise State was second in the rankings, San Diego State, Hawaii and Nevada each earned a vote to be the second-best team in the league.

The only real change came from Hawaii jumping both Fresno State and San Diego State to end the season as the fourth-ranked team
