There is a new way to determine NCAA Tournament bids

The NCAA Tournament selection committee has made some changes to how they select teams. Gone are the days of only using RPI only to determine fine team is worthy. (Read our intro here)
These changes weigh road and home games differently and four RPI groups, plus KenPom, RPI and BPI are metrics, too.

There were two games this week that are going to have an impact on this latest release. The first is the Boise State loss to SMU where the Broncos were hoping to get a quality road win, but instead were blown out 86-63. This defeat does put a damper toward an at-large bid but does not kill it.
The other team is Wyoming who has already lost to Denver but they recently had another bad loss by falling to Northern Colorado, 91-84. That is a Group 3 loss for Northern Colorado and that Denver loss was a Group 4. The Cowboys were already clinging to an at-large with a strong SOS but now they must all but win the conference tournament to get to the NCAA’s.
