San Diego State is at the top
In the latest edition of the Mountain West power poll there is a bit of a shakeup as San Diego State moved up two spots to claim the No. 1 position after defeating Boise State. The Aztecs are not a unanimous choice as there are five teams earning first-place votes.
In order, Fresno State has two nods for first-place, Utah State has the same amount, Boise State still has one as does Hawai. There will be a lot of movement going forward due to a variety of reasons, and the biggest one is the quarterback play.
There has been a rash of benchings, swapping and injuries forcing teams to change its play. It did not impact San Diego State or Hawaii which used backups due to injuries as both won this weekend. Who knows if that will change down the road, and this is something to keep a watchful eye over.
The other end of the poll saw some movement as well with New Mexico rising after its beatdown over UNLV and the same goes for Air Force which thumped Navy with a different quarterback.
