Nevada seems to have the top seed locked up
Nevada and Boise State played an epic game at Taco Bell Arena Tuesday night with the Wolf Pack winning, 77-72, and that victory basically gives them the top seed.
Nevada has a 1.5 game lead over Boise State and has swept the Broncos and the next teams in line are three games back with UNLV and Fresno State with five games left. The Rebels do have a chance to sweep the Wolf Pack but for Nevada to not win the conference they’d have to have five league losses and right now they have just two. So, Nevada would need to go 2-3 to not win the league.
The conference which is very tight as the differencce between third-place and seventh place is just 1.5 games and San Diego State which is eigth is only two games out of being the third seed.

Here is how the bracket would play out if the tournament were today.
Obviously, a lot can change from now until the teams convene to the Thomas & Mack in Las Vegas in March. The race to keep an eye one is what five teams can avoid playing in the opening round game.
Here are the current Mountain West standings.
