MW comes out with an official statement of there being no fans.

In expected news, the Mountain West announced there will be no fans allowed at the Mountain West tournament in Las Vegas. That’s not surprising with no teams in the state of Nevada having fans be allowed at all this season.

Neither the Men’s or Women’s tournaments will have fans, the release above announces which makes the most sense.

“The Mountain West will restrict entry to the Thomas & Mack Center to participating teams, game officials, tournament staff, TV partners, limited credentialed media and other support personnel included on the team’s official pass list.”

The conference wants to try and mitigate risk for players and other personnel getting infected with COVID-19 while trying to play the tournament without any stoppages. The less risk the better because the NCAA Tournament is just days after the conference tournament and teams that move on want to be at full strength.

The tournament is set to take place from March 7th-13th in the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
