More bowl eligible teams

A new week means a new seat of bowl guesses within the Mountain West. There are a lot of good teams who are still in the running for the Jimmy Kimmel Bowl which will feature the Mountain West champion. For now, that team is San Diego State as they are the highest ranked team and leading the West Division.

However, the race is far from over as Fresno State has defeated both Nevada and San Diego State, the Wolf Pack are in the running as well if it gets down to the tiebreakers (we will go over those if it comes to it).

Then in the Mountain Division, Utah State is at the top with one league loss but Air Force is just behind them with two losses as is Boise State. Where the Mountain could get interesting and bring in the Falcons and Broncos is if it is a three-way tie, because the record between each of those teams would have a 1-1 record against the other two.

As for the total number of bowl teams eligible, currently, there are six teams with six wins. Then there are two with five wins in Wyoming and San Jose State. So, it is possible that the league could have eight eligible teams, and if that happens it will be tricky to see if the league gets all of those teams to the post season.
