An old WAC matchup.
This week we have a new bowl in the mix and it is the Cure Bowl as the Mountain West still has more teams projected to be eligible over bowl slots the league is contracted with.
Wyoming is thiiiiiiiis close to being out of a bowl game. They are 4-3 and have lost three in a row while clearly trending in the wrong direction. They take on San Jose State this weekend and the loser of that is very much likely out of a bowl game, and the winner a decent shot as both would have five games this week.
A few interesting matchups this time around would be San Diego State finally getting to play USC in the Jimmy Kimmel Bowl. The Aztecs already have a pair of wins over the Pac-12 so a third could be in line.
UTEP is a surprising team this year as they are 6-1 on the year and bowl eligible for the first time since 2014 when they went to the New Mexico Bowl. The projection for the Miners is facing an old WAC foe in Air Force at the Frisco Bowl.
A few other juicy matchups is Utah State vs. Liberty and its future NFL quarterback Malik Willis and the other is Fresno State vs. UCF. The latter is included is because it’s UCF and any chance the Mountain West can face and hopefully beat them is a matchup to watch,
