Nevada’s Sherifield tabbed the conference player of the year.

Sherfield posted 18.6 points, 6.1 assists, and shot 37 percent from three in his first season for the Pack. It’s not much of a surprise Sherfield ended up being picked as the player of the year, but Colorado State’s Isaiah Stevens and David Roddy, and SDSU’s Matt Bradley are contenders too.

The preseason All-Mountain West team isn’t surprising besides the exclusion of Matt Bradley. While Bradley is the conference’s newcomer of the year, he’s the top pure scorer in the league. Last season, the 6-foot-4 guard posted averaged 18 points, while shooting 45.5 percent from the field in the PAC-12 with California. As the Aztecs lost their top-three scorers Matt Mitchell, Jordan Schakel, and Terrell Gomez — it opens up the perfect opportunity for Bradley to thrive.
UNLV’s Bryce Hamilton, Fresno State’s Orlando Robinson, and Colorado State’s Isaiah Stevens, and David Roddy round out the list with player of the year Grant Sherfield. There’s star power atop the Mountain West this season, and should be fun to watch when the season tips on November, 9th.
