The latest power rankings from our staff have a little twist as Utah State’s victory over San Diego State knocked off Boise State’s grip on every first-place vote. The Aggies only earned one but they are now the clear No. 2 team this week and move up three spots. Rounding out the top five are all new teams in Hawaii, Air Force and San Diego State.

Overall, there were a lot of changes in this week’s poll as every single spot changed with the exception of Boise State remaining at the top. That amount of movement is unprecedented and next week’s poll could be in a similar fashion as league play gets going in more earnest and that will give even more clarity as to what team should be ranked where.
