Get ready for the NFL Draft
The NFL Draft is in Cleveland, Ohio, this year and will not be virtual like last year’s draft that was essentially a gigantic video call. This year there will be more people in person with a green room full of some highly drafted players, media, and others.
The Mountain West is not going to have a huge contingency taken in this draft since many players took up the offer for a free year and be a super senior for 2021. There likely will be about four to five players taken, and an early guess would be these.
- Warren Jackson, Colorado State, WR
- Darren Hall, San Diego State, DB
- Tariq Thompson, San Diego State, DB
- Avery Williams, Boise State, KR/PR/CB
- John Bates, Boise State, TE
There could be a few surprises like Air Force’s offensive lineman in Parker Ferguson and Nolan Laufenberg were really well last year and could be in the mix for being drafted or at the very least undrafted free agents.

- Draft Order
The odds are that the Mountain West will not get a player in the first round and it may not be until the end of the second day or the third round for the first player from the league to go off the board.
Weirder things have happened, back in 2018 former San Diego State running back Rashaad Penny was a surprise first-round pick going to No. 27 to the Seattle Seahawks. It only takes one team to fall in love with a player to take them earlier than people expect.
