What favorites are in trouble?

The lines this week are one of a kind with five lines being by double digits, two are over 20 points and three are huge road favorites. That just likely means that something crazy will happen this weekend as Mountain West play starts on Friday night.

Colorado State at Boise State (-24)

Last year, the Rams had its best chance to beat the Broncos but they blew a 28-3 lead to lose in overtime. While this Colorado State seems to slowly starting to turn things around and Boise State is struggling just a bit this year, it still seems that the Rams will not have enough to upset Boise State on the blue turf. As for the 24-point line that seems a bit too rich since Colorado State can move the ball and score points.

Air Force at UNLV (+10)

This is the first of three road favorites by double-digits with the Falcons projected to top the Rebels. The way UNLV has been playing of late has been less than inspiring. Head coach Tony Sanchez is calling out players and quarterback Max Gilliam is not playing anywhere near the level that starter Armani Rogers was playing.

This game could be close because the Falcons are not sure who its quarterback will be this week. Injuries and swapping out players has been a concern. Donald Hammond seems to be the player at the top of the depth chart but he is nursing an ankle injury so the starter could be either Arion Worthman or Isiah Sanders, both have played significant time this year.

Utah State at Wyoming (+14)

This will be the biggest test for Utah State’s offense going back to its opener at Michigan State. The Aggies offense is second in the country scoring just over 50 points per game and the streak could come to an end by playing a solid Wyoming defense.

The type of defense the Cowboys field will keep them in most game and very well keep them closer than these two touchdowns. Offensively for Wyoming, they do not have much outside of running back Nico Evans who leads the conference in rushing yards and averages nearly seven yards per carry.
