Why NEVADA Will Win
Nevada is coming into this contest ailing as the Martin twins, Kendall Stephens and Hallice Cooke are all fighting illnesses as well as backup guard Josh Hall who will be out of this game. It does not make things easier for Nevada as they face a Wyoming team coming off an 82-69 victory over San Diego State on December 27th and as a team, Wyoming is veteran laden and likes to shoot the three-ball (the Cowboys average close to nine made three a game). This won’t be an easy task for Nevada to defeat the suddenly confident Wyoming Cowboys.
But the Wolf Pack are at home and after a rough start defending the three against New Mexico, the Wolf Pack did muster up enough defense and grit to pull out the three-point victory on Saturday against the Lobos. I believe a continued improvement on defending the three and the Wolf Pack players feeding off the energy of the home crowd will be enough for Nevada to pull off a close victory against the Cowboys.
Score Prediction
Nevada 79, Wyoming 77
