Nevada Defeats Air Force, Stay Unbeaten In Conference Play

Nevada Takes Down Air Force 86-75 Thanks To Some Hot Shooting From Three From The Wolf Pack.

It was a fight early on as the Nevada Wolf Pack traveled to Colorado Springs to take on the Air Force Falcons on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons let by as many as eight points early in the first half and the Wolf Pack looked out of sorts early on.
The Wolf Pack was helped by a terrific three-point shooting performance today especially by Kendall Stephens. The Wolf Pack used their hot three-point shooting to go up one at the half at 41-40 and continued that shooting in the second half.
The Wolf Pack went on a 9-0 scoring run in the middle of the second half to extend their lead for good as the Wolf Pack knocked off the Falcons 86-75. The win improves the Wolfpack’s record to 15-3 and 4-0 in the conference while the Falcons drop to not so nice record of 6-9 and 0-3 in conference play.
For the Wolf Pack, Kendall Stephens was a force for the Wolf Pack as the transfer from Purdue scored 21 points off 7 for 16 shooting from the field and those seven made shots were from three. As a team, the Wolf Pack went 15 for 31 from behind the three-point arc while the Falcons who started hot from three, ended up shooting 8 for 21 from the behind the arc.
Stephens was not alone lighting it up from behind the three-point line, Caleb Martin went 4 for 8 from three as he led the Wolf Pack in scoring today with 23 points while Hallice Cooke came off the bench and went 3 for 6 from three which was good for nine points off the bench. Jordan Caroline, only went one for two from three but did score 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds today.
The Falcons had four players score in double figures as forward Lavelle Scottie led the team with 16 points while forward Ryan Swan chipped in with 15 points. Guards Jacob Van and Trevor Lyons contributed with 12 points and 11 points respectively.
The Wolf Pack will have a week off as their next game will be on Saturday January 6th as they will host the Utah State Aggies in Reno.
