Day 3 of the Mountain West Tournament is the semifinals with the No. 1, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 7 seeds still alive.
Nevada takes on a hot San Diego State team which has won seven consecutive games and is arguably playing the best basketball in the conference right now. The Wolf Pack struggled against a mediocre UNLV team and if that team shows up again they will not be moving on.
Utah State is the first seven seed to make it to the semifinals since 2006. The Aggies upset Boise State with Sam Merrill enjoying a huge game by making 7 of 10 from three-point range, ending up with a game-high 28 points.
New Mexico started off hot start against Wyoming and is on a similar trajectory as San Diego State by winning its sixth straight game. The Lobos used their 18th different lineup of the season.
