In this matchup of winless MW teams, one of them will leave with their first win of 2019. The Cowboys have one of the best players in the MW in senior guard Justin James who is averaging 20 points and 9 rebounds this season but injuries have dampened the potential of putting together a solid season.

Since recording their last win on Dec. 29 against Dixie State, a buzzer beater from Trace Young in his first collegiate game, the Cowboys have been reduced to only seven healthy scholarship players.

Wyoming has added 2 walk-ons from small in-state high schools. KC Henry, a sophomore guard from Lingle in December and Haize Fornstrom, a freshman guard from Pine Bluffs in earlier this month to fill out the squad.

San Jose State hasn’t won a game since a Dec. 15 victory over Northern Arizona. With the win over NAU being their second win in a row, they looked to have turned a corner with close single digit losses at Stanford and at Cal but have since lost their last six contests by 18+ points. The Spartans are led by Michael Stedman’s 12.4 ppg and 8.4 rpg.
