This is a huge game for Wyoming as it is trying to become bowl eligible and getting to six wins may not be enough this year. The Cowboys are entering this game hurt as running back Nico Evans is day-to-day with an ankle injury and his backup Jevon Bigelow is nursing a rib injury. Neither practiced on Thursday and officially are questionable.
Quarterback Nico Chambers is out for the rest of the year after suffering a leg injury and the good news is that there is no ligament damage and he will be ready to go in 2019. In his place is Tyler Vander Waal who has the starter until he was replaced mid-season by Chambers.
It will be interesting to see how this Cowboys offense goes with backups at key positions. However, they are playing New Mexico which is not exactly the best defensive team in the league. The Lobos are giving up over six yards per play which is 10th in the conference. Even with backups, this Wyoming team should move the ball some.
The Wyoming defense will be the unit to watch to see if the Cowboys can get to the Lobos offense. New Mexico has been playing multiple quarterbacks over the past few weeks and have not looked good playing either.
