Wyoming is struggling this year and they are taking on an equally struggling team in Evansville as the two take on each other in the final edition of the Missouri Valley vs. Mountain West challenge.
With Justin James, the Cowboys have a shot in every game, just look at the come from behind win over Richmond where he put up 29 points. The problem is the surrounding talent is just not there.
They do have three players who score in double figures but the team does not shoot the ball well at all, and they don’t defend all that well either.
They are in the 254th in effective field goal percentage per KenPom and are also one of the worst offensive rebounding teams in the country. That combination does not bode well for the Cowboys to score points, or beat anyone on the schedule.
Defensively they are one of the worst teams around in forcing turnovers and allow teams to shoot 53.4 percent in effecitve field goal percentage allowed and that is 252nd in the country. The Cowboys struggle to shoot the three on a good clip and defense is poor as well when teams shoot the long ball.
Allen Edwards has proven to be a good coach but the talent on this team is thin and he will need to one heck of a job to make the Cowboys compettive.
