The junior guard led Wyoming in scoring last season

Wyoming guard Justin James (mouth) will miss Wednesday’s Cayman Island Classic title game against #12 Cincinnati, per reports.

James received a shot to the mouth/nose area in Tuesday’s semifinal victory over Louisiana-Lafayette, and did not return to game action. He needed stitches, and later sat on the Wyoming bench for the remainder of the game.

Wyoming head coach Allen Edwards said after Tuesday’s win that James was expected to play on Wednesday against #12 Cincinnati, but he was assumed to be a game-time decision.

James is averaging 10.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game this season. He was the #5 player in the 2017-18 Mountain West Wire Top 25 Countdown.

Wyoming tips off against #12 Cincinnati at 4:30pm PT in the inaugural Cayman Islands Classic championship.
