Wyoming guard Justin James will play in the Cowboys’ regular season opener Friday night, per Wyoming Tribune’s Robert Gagliardi.

James, the leading scorer from last year’s team, averaged 16.0 points per game for the Cowboys in 2016-17. He also recorded a 30.6% usage percentage, the second-highest total in the Mountain West.

The junior guard sat out Wyoming’s final exhibition last Friday due to an ankle injury. James has been limited in practice and was replaced by freshman Hunter Maldonado in the exhibition.

Wyoming was picked 5th by the MWC Wire staff in the preseason. The Cowboys are sturdy 12-point home favorites against SoCon’s Chattanooga Friday.
