Who is the better bettor?
Now that you guys have chosen which bet you’re going to make, let’s take a look at the bets involved in this weeks challenge.
Here’s a reminder of how this is going to work for the rest of the season. The odds post will come out each week and I’ll make what I believe to be the best bets for each game. Four of the bets will be picked and we’ll tweet out a poll for you guys to choose which bet you believe is most likely to win. I’ll pick one of the other bets and each week we’ll recap the head to head as well as how each team did at the sportsbook. In the event of a cancellation of a game that was bet on, the next highest chosen bet will be made in its place.

Well, we actually got all games selected for the poll to play this week. The reader’s chose the Nevada/Hawaii over and I went with the San Jose State/Boise over for this week’s betting challenge.
Update: I spoke too soon when I made this post this morning. The Boise/SJSU game was cancelled just a few hours later. So I’ve substituted in San Diego State straight up over Colorado.
Nevada/Hawaii OVER
I think this pick was kind of a given this week. Two teams with high powered offenses. Hawaii has been an up and down team this season. High scoring one week and shut down another week. I think they break that streak this week and have a similar performance to last week.
The question this week will be about Wolf Pack’s defense. The Nevada defense is allowing just over 20 points a game this year. If the defense can step up, this pick is in danger. I don’t believe that will be the case and the over should hit quite easily.
San Diego State ML
The spread pick here is -3.5 with the over/under set at 51.5. I like this match up for the Aztecs. This gets them a P5 match up against a high powered offense. San Diego State has been able to contain the high powered offenses they’ve faced this year, even if they haven’t won.
Colorado really hasn’t faced anybody. The Pac 12 is one of the weaker Power 5 conferences and while the Buffaloes offense has been great so far this season. They’ve played two games against UCLA and Stanford where they jumped out to large leads and then almost lost those leads. I’m taking the Aztecs straight up here.
