Week 0 featured three Mountain West teams and there is already a shakeup in the preseason bowl predictions with Hawaii showing up big in its opening road win over Colorado State. With the Warriors win we slot them in a bowl game. It’s early so we can be wild with these pick, to a degree.
With there being just a few games only a few changes are made from an opponent standpoint, but we do remove New Mexico State from being in the Arizona Bowl.
First off, here are the bowl tie-ins for the Mountain West. There is no true order for the conference outside of the Las Vegas Bowl getting to take whatever team it wants, and it does not have to be the champion.
The highest-ranked champion from the Group of Five will play in a New Year’s Six bowl.
1. Las Vegas vs. Pac-12
– Famous Idaho Potato Bowl vs. MAC
– Gildan New Mexico Bowl vs. Conference USA
– Hawai’i Bowl (Hawaii if they are bowl eligible) vs. Conference USA
– NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl vs. Sun Belt (New Mexico State is a backup.
– Cactus Bowl (Pac-12 vs. Big 12 and this is a backup spot for the Mountain West)
