This is one of the first bowl games and it has the chance to be one of the best of bowl season. Both the Aggies and Mean Green were extremely close to winning its conference.
Each team can score a lot of points as there are playmakers on each team with two great quarterbacks in North Texas’ Mason Fine who is back-to-back Conference USA player of the year and Utah State’s Jordan Love who was second team all-Mountain West.
What potentially could make this game go off the rials in favor of North Texas is that Utah State is down a few coaches since head coach Matt Wells left Logan to take the head coaching job at Texas Tech. Wells has been around to help prep for the game and David Yost will stick around for one more game to call the offense, but the routine is broken with some coaches sticking around and some off working with their new team.
While the Aggies offense is one of the best in the country, this team does a lot of things really well. Utah State ranks second in the nation in defensive touchdowns, third in forced turnovers, tops the nation in kickoff returns and eighth in turnover margin. The Mean Green will have to play its best in multiple areas if they are going to win.
