The Aggies Escape By A Cleat

After going for over 800 yards against San Jose State, the Utah State offense waited until the last second to make an impact. Jordan Love found Aaren Vaughns wide open for the winning touchdown after blown coverage from Colorado State. It was the Aggies first and only offensive touchdown of the game.

The Aggies were led on offense by Jordan Love (16 completions, 24 attempts, 169 passing yards, and a touchdown), Gerold Bright (13 carries for 89 yards), Ron’Quavion Tarver (6 catches for 69 yards), and Aaren Vaughns (2 catches for 49 yards and a touchdown).

The Utah State defense helped secure this victory for Utah State. The Aggies defense had two pick sixes on the day. The first came off of a tipped ball and the second game when Collin Hill threw behind his receiver while he was under pressure.

Colorado State has had a rough year. Things looked to get back on track in the middle of the season and then they fell apart. But today the defense stepped up. The Rams defense was able to hold the high powered Utah State offense to just 310 yards.

The Rams offense however couldn’t get out of their own way. Besides the pick sixes, the Rams had multiple penalties called; including a Rocky Mountain Showdown reminding offensive pass interference call. The Rams looked to have won the game on a last second hail mary, but Preston Williams stepped out of bounds and was flagged for illegal touching to end the game.

The Rams were led on offense by Collin Hill (24 completions, 37 attempts, 296 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions), Izzy Matthews (20 carries, 100 yards, and a touchdown), Olabisi Johnson (7 catches for 107 yards), and Preston Williams (6 catches for 77 yards and two touchdowns).

The Rams have to pick themselves up on a short week, as they face the Air Force Falcons on Thanksgiving Day. Meanwhile, the Aggies head to Boise to face the Broncos to determine who wins the Mountain Division.
