Can the Cowboys pull off an upset?
UNLV is in the middle of the conference and looking to try to keep pace with San Diego State, Utah State, and Fresno State. They get the chance to do so by taking on the Wyoming Cowboys with a chance to sweep the season series.
The Rebels have been good enough to beat the bad teams in the league and that should win against Wyoming but they need to stop the leagues leading scorer in Justin James who is putting up 20.7 points per game.
“My game plan going into any game is to see how the defense is guarding me the first few possessions and play basketball after that,” James said.
He also leads the Cowboys in every major category.
Stopping James will be the Rebels first step in trying to defeat the Cowboys, and if that happens then UNLV probably will win.
As for the other side, Wyoming can not allow Joel Ntambwe to score over 30 points again.
“My thing to our guys was about keeping people in check,” Wyoming head coach Allen Edwards said. “Can’t have one of these guys go off like the first time around. (Ntambwe) had 31 I think on us. Understanding he is a talent, but at the same time, not saying let’s disrespect the other guys because they’re more than capable of scoring.”
