Many questions arose after FS1 had BSU against UNM listed on Thursday.

Still on schedule for Thursday at 9:00 EST, but UNM wants to move the game back.

Just like everything in 2020 this game remains fluid. New Mexico wants to move the Thursday game to Saturday, and subsequently move the Saturday game to Sunday, according to B.J. Rains of the Idaho Press-Tribune.

Why would UNM want to do that you may be wondering? Well, due to New Mexico regulations they weren’t able to practice in the state of New Mexico, so the team left for Texas on November 20th to practice for the first time since early November, after previously only having two practices.

UNM has consulted doctors to see how long the team would need to prepare and avoid serious injury. The doctors had said two weeks, from November 20th, which would be December 4th (Saturday).

So what are the odds the game gets pushed back two days?

In 2020, anything is possible but it doesn’t seem as if the game will be pushed back to Saturday and Sunday, either way it’s a tough draw for the Lobos as they have practiced so little even if they get the extra two days.

As Rains quotes Coach Rice on here it doesn’t seem like it’s been communicated to Coach in any form from the Mountain West higher-ups that the game could be moved. Stating, “the league made that schedule” Makes it sound like Coach Rice is ready to rock and roll on Thursday night on FS1.

Stay tuned for updates in the coming days on the status of this series, and if UNM can get it pushed back.
