Is Nevada a top four seed as of Saturday?

The third annual NCAA March Madness Bracket Preview will take place Saturday morning as the selection committee reveals the top 16 teams to this point in the season.

Nevada, at 22-1 and ranked sixth in the AP poll, is in the mix to hear its named called.

My projections are below.

Sorry, Nevada fans.

The reality of it is pretty clear. Everyone knows Nevada is really, really good. National championship good even. The problem, though, is that its resume doesn’t measure up against the top 16 resumes in the nation.

As you can see above, Nevada’s team sheet is very imbalanced. Its first quadrant is completely bare. That’s a huge problem. The Wolf Pack is the only team in the top 35 in NET to not have a single Q1 victory.

It’ll be interesting to see if/where Nevada is selected Saturday. If Nevada hears its name, it means the selection committee greatly values the “eye test” and acknowledges the relative strength of this team. If not, the lack of quality wins will be seen as more important to the committee. Either way, it’s something that will surely be discussed.

As always, Nevada’s route to the best possible seed is simple. Keep winning.
