The Spartans are back at home for their senior night to face Wyoming after a disappointing showing in San Diego. The Aztecs used some red hot shooting (40% from 3, 51% overall) in the first half to build a 12 point lead. San Diego State would go on to hit 14 3-points for the game and win by nearly 30 points. San Jose State cooled off against San Diego State after shooting it well in their lone conference win against New Mexico. For the game, the Spartans shot 22% from 3 and 30% overall, while also turning the ball over 15 times which has been a problem all season. If the Spartans have any hope of taking down the Cowboys, they will surely have to improve those numbers even against a low scoring Wyoming team. One bright spot for the Spartans has been the play of Michael Steadman who finished with his 3rd straight and 10th overall double double on the season.

Wyoming won the first match against the Spartans in a low scoring affair that did not see either team eclipse 60 points. That was a back and forth game that saw the Cowboys able to score just enough down the stretch to win. Of course, look for Justin James to have a big night against the Spartans but also the Cowboys might be able to take advantage of weak 3 point defense from the Spartans. San Jose State has struggled all season with running guys off the 3-point line and the Cowboys were able to hit 14 3’s in their last outing against Air Force. Against the Falcons, Wyoming shot it well but also allowed Air Force to shoot 46% overall and 50% from 3 as they would go on to lose.
