After a thrilling five overtime loss to Hawaii, the San Jose State Spartans are back home again to face the Rams. Last week the Spartans continued to build off road losses to PAC foes as the defense played well and the offense looked the best it has all season. At one point in the third overtime, the Spartans were only a 30-yard field goal away from walking off but Bryce Crawford was unable to convert.

In the first half, the defense only gave up 10 points and at one point forced an explosive Hawaii offense to 3, 3 and outs in a row. Before the Hawaii game, coach Brennan stated that Montel Aaron would rotate in with Josh Love but Love ended up playing the whole game finishing 28-49 for 451 yards and 3 TDS. Moving forward Coach Brennan has stated that it will be Love moving forward.

This week may pose the best chance for the Spartans to obtain a win on the season. S&P+ has the Spartans at a 49% chance of winning this week which is the highest percentage for the rest of the season. In addition, only 5 spots separate the Spartans from Colorado State on the overall S&P+ ratings as San Jose enters at 121 and Colorado State is at 116.

Next, we will take a look at 3 keys for a Spartans first victory
