San Jose State enters Saturday’s game after giving up 91 points to Colorado State as 6 Rams were able to finish the game in double figures. The Rams hit a season-high 16 3-pointers in the win as San Jose has had trouble all year defending the 3-point shot. Nico Carvacho was able to score 18 points while pulling down 19 rebounds. While the Spartans have had defensive lapses lately, they have improved on cutting down on turnovers. After posting season lows in turnovers in back to back games they Spartans only turned it over 10 times. If San Jose State wants to beat the Falcons they will need to not only limit the turnovers but also defend against a team that will be excited for senior day.
Air Force comes into the matchup after surprisingly going on the road and beating Fresno State in the SaveMart Center. Not only did the Falcons win but the game was controlled by Air Force from the start. The Falcons held Fresno State to only 20
points in the first half. The Falcons nearly blew a double-digit lead as they were up by 11 with a little over 3 minutes remaining but were able to hold for the win. In the last matchup against San Jose, the Spartans and Falcons went into double overtime in San Jose in a back and forth game. This time around do not be surprised if Air Force is able to score at a really high efficiency with their Princeton like offense and San Jose’s current lack of defense.
