After claiming their first Mountain West football title with a 34-20 victory over Boise State on Saturday, it didn’t take long for the San Jose State Spartans to learn about their bowl destination.

The newly minted conference champions will square off against the Ball State Cardinals in the Arizona Bowl, which is set for Thursday, December 31, in Tucson. Ball State secured its first Mid-American Conference title since 1996 on Friday with a 38-28 win over the Buffalo Bulls, capping a 6-1 campaign that marks the program’s first winning season since 2013.
The bowl game will be the first meeting between these two teams. It kicks off at 11:00 AM Pacific/12:00 PM Mountain on CBS.
