Having welcomed close to half of its entire 2021 football recruiting class to campus last weekend, Penn State added seven new scholarship freshmen to their spring-semester roster.
The Nittany Lions could be said to have the busiest offseason out of all the other Big Ten teams. This will be a whole new development that could alter their program as they seek to stretch their four-game win streak following a 0-5 start back in 2020, a year cancasinos had backed with odds hugely.
Due to early high school graduation, each of these freshmen players arrived in Happy Valley. This, however, doesn’t change anything as there is still work to be done for the 2021 recruiting cycle which will open in February. The Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin addressed the situation in a press conference on Monday.
Franklin said to the reporters: “Signing Day is coming up and we’ve got some wiggle room. Whether that is high school kids or whether that is transfers, we’ll see how it all plays out.”
This all but confirms that there will be transfers happening and new faces to be seen in the Nittany Lions team during February recruiting session. Penn State used their social media account to introduce seven newcomers to the fans on Monday night, helping the fans understand who exactly has been signed to the team.
This is a group of players hailing from five states and two countries – Christian Veilleux, who plays in the quarterback position, is a Canadian prospect – and report has it that they have already started off their collegiate work as Penn State students and athletes.
While spring practices have been ruled out from 2020 schedules due to major concerns stemming from the covid-19 pandemic, there remains hope that these Freshmen will be able to put on the Nittany Lions’ jersey in the field in a few weeks, if not months, and Australian online casino are backing them with immense odds for the season to come.
The names of the recruits are Linebacker Kobe King, defensive line Rodney McGraw, defensive back Jeffery Davis, quarterback Christian Veilleux, offensive line Nate Bruce, defensive back Kalen King, and offensive line Landon Tengwall.
Speaking to the media, offensive lineman Landon Tengwall said: “We just want to get there and help. We talk about it all the time. We just wanna get to campus and help get this program back to the top of the Big Ten.”
The remaining eight players of the freshman class, and the players that could join in February, will be entering the town in the summer. Penn State will be opening up their 2021 season at Wisconsin on September 4.
