Lobos find their quarterback
In a surprise to very few people, New Mexico has named its starting quarterback and it will be Kentucky transfer Terry Wilson.
Wilson came from the SEC after a fairly successful time with Kentucky and specifically the 2018 season when he led the Wildcats to a 10-3 record, a Citrus Bowl victory, and a No. 12 ranking to end the year. That season, the Wildcats also defeated Florida, Mississippi State and Penn State.
As a starter, he went 17-8 and is the only player in team history to record 3,000 career passing yards (3,436) and 1,000 career rushing yards (1,015).
A severe knee injury sidelined him in 2019 and it carried over into 2020 and the starting job was lost. Now, he is in New Mexico where he is the guy, and hoping to bring some of that ’18 magic to the upcoming 2021 season.

Wilson is likely a big upgrade at quarterback and the Lobos need it as last year they went through five quarterbacks due to a variety or injuries and ineffectiveness.
Having one guy with big time college football experience is going to make New Mexico a team that could pull off an upset or two as they did last year to end the season.
