Harris, via Louisiana Tech, will pack a scoring punch for Nevada
Louisiana Tech transfer Jalen Harris announced his commitment to Nevada on Wednesday, per his Twitter page.
Harris is a 6-4, 190-pound guard who averaged 12.2 points per game in his first two seasons with Louisiana Tech. In 11 games this season, Harris averaged 15.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 44.4% from deep.
By the way of Duncanville, Texas, Harris received offers from North Texas, Incarnate Word and Duquesne out of high school. He signed with Louisiana Tech in September of 2015.
After announcing his intentions to transfer from Louisiana Tech, Harris had interest in taking his talents to Nevada, Tulsa, Stephen F. Austin and Oklahoma State, according to Reno-Gazzette’s Chris Murray.
Nevada’s incoming class for 2018 now includes Harris and three-star forwards K.J. Hymes and Vince Lee, both of which are prep players.
Harris is the first transfer of Nevada’s future 2019-20 roster. Josh Hall, a current sophomore, expects to join Harris as a senior on the ’19-20 Wolf Pack squad.
Due to transfer rules, Harris will not be eligible to play in the 2018-19 season. He will be eligible to participate in both the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons.
