Wolf Pack, Loyola Chicago Rematch Scheduled As Part Of The MW/Missouri Valley Challenge.

The Nevada Wolf Pack are creating their non-conference schedule for the 2018-2019 season and it will feature a familiar opponent.

Per Chris Murray of the Reno Gazette Journal, the Wolf Pack have set up a few non-conference games for next season and one of them will be against the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers. The Ramblers edged the Wolf Pack by a score of 69-68 in the Sweet 16 en route to San Antonio where they played in this year’s Final Four.

The rematch between the Wolf Pack and the Ramblers will be a part of the annual Mountain West-Missouri Valley Challenge and the date of this game will be on November 28th. The Wolf Pack will have to travel to the Windy City as they look to avenge their heartbreaking loss to the Ramblers on the Wednesday after Thanksgiving.

The addition of Loyola-Chicago, a team that will lose three of its six top scorers next season, to the schedule is a big boost to the Wolf Pack’s non-conference slate for the 2018-2019 season. The other teams that are on the Wolf Pack’s still developing non-conference schedule include Pacific, Arkansas-Little Rock, Cal Baptist, and South Dakota State.

Also included in the schedule is a game against Tulsa in the Las Vegas Invitational on November 22nd and a to be determined opponent on the following day. Nevada will play a neutral site game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles for a second straight season. Just like last season where the Wolf Pack played TCU, they will play against a Power 5 opponent at Staples, but the opponent is still to be determined.

Nevada still has a few open spots to fill on their non-conference schedule for 2018-19. The Wolf Pack are speaking to several Power 5 schools in possibly setting a one-for-one series, but these talks are still ongoing. Time will tell if the Wolf Pack can continue to bolster their non-conference schedule in the hopes of building another strong non-conference resume that will look good in the eyes of the NCAA Selection Committee come next March.

Look for Nevada’s Mountain West conference schedule to be released in June.
