Mountain West Non-Conference Games We Will Miss The Most
There were plenty of Power 5 games going to be missed.

Sadly these games may never happen.
One of the great things about non-conference football from the Group of Five, even the buy games, is the chance to pull off an upset, and the Mountain West has done that over the years.
Last year, it was Boise State over Florida State, Nevada over Purdue, Wyoming over Missouri, San Diego State over UCLA, Hawaii over Oregon State, Air Force over Colorado, and probably others.

These games are a big loss finanancially, for fans and also allows for teams for an upset. The home games are the big loss since fans will get to miss out on playing Power 5 teams on the schedule.
Florida State at Boise State
This was the big headliner and part of it is in name only since the Seminoles have not been what they were during Bobby Bowdin’s historical run of top-five finishes. There is another new coach in town for Florida State and Boise State has to replace some key players but this is the non-conference gaame that would have been huge for the Mountain West had Boise State been able to pull off the win.
Colorado at Colorado State
This game is being moved from the neutral site of the home of the Denver Broncos to Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins. This years game could have ended the winning streak at five games. The Rams despite having a new head coach in Steve Addazio have the offense, or had rather with a few transfers, to win this game against the Buffaloes at home.
Utah at Wyoming
This is another home Power 5 game that would be very winnable. Utah is coming off of back-to-back Pac-12 title game apperances but they lost a lot of talent to the NFL Draft. The starting quarterback would have been new in either former Texas quarterback Cam Rising or Jake Bentley previousy of South Carolina. There also would have been a new running back to replace the drafted Zack Moss, and most of the starting defense from last year.
The Wyoming offense would have had a great chance to run through this newly made Utah defense that still would be good with Pac-12 talent. Xazavian Valladay could arguably be the best back that the Utes would have faced all year. The game would have pegged Utah as the favorite but the game would have been cloase and very winnable for wyoming.
Air Force at Army & Navy at Air Force
These two go hand in hand and are very important for the Air Force Academy and the other two as well between Army and Navy. These game may not always be the most glamorous between ranked teams but the results sometimes can be one of a kind with comebacks and even the rare shootout like it was between Navy and Air Force back in 2017 when it was 58-45 in favor of the Midshipman.
