Boise State was first named a unanimous pick to win the Mountain Division and earned the most first-place overall. The nomination for the Broncos continue with the release of the all-league team where eight of the 25 spots went to Boise State, that is nearly one-third.

Also, quarterback Brett Rypien is tabbed as the preseason player of the year on the offensive side of the ball. Basically, the Broncos are considered head and shoulders above the rest of the league.

Nevada and San Diego State had the next most selections with three each. Colorado State had one pick but only on the special teams and it was San Jose State and Air Force did not have any players on the media’s all-conference selections.

As for the rest of the awards, it was Wyoming defensive back Andrew Wingard who was named the best defender and Boise State’s Avery Williams was named special teams player of the year as a returner.
