Colorado State was led by Deion James, who finished with 17 points and nine rebounds. Nico Carvacho was the only other Ram in double figures with 14 points. Carvacho also finished with 15 rebounds. Carvacho almost out rebounded the Lobos himself, as New Mexico finished with 15 rebounds as a team.

This was a back and forth game. New Mexico started with a run. Colorado State would answer with a run, but the Lobos would shut the door with another run of their own. The Lobos defense gave the Rams problems all night, as New Mexico forced 23 turnovers. The Lobos were able to convert those turnovers into 30 points.
The Lobos played the Rams collapse defense perfectly. The Lobos would drive the lane and kick to the three point line. The Lobos finished 13-34 from the three point line, which ended up being the difference in this game.
Up next for the Lobos, a road game against Utah State. For Colorado State, a home game against Wyoming in the second edition of the Border War.
