The Nevada bench just got a whole lot thinner
The Nevada Wolf Pack’s huge win over Boise State on Tuesday night came at a cost as starting guard Lindsey Drew is out for the year after he ruptured his right achilles after just 19 minutes.
The Wolf Pack bench is already thin and typically plays just eight players sho losing Drew is a big deal as he plays 29 minutes per game, 8.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists and a steal per game. He is an all-around player which will be missed.
“I couldn’t even be around him because I was so devastated because I love him so much,” Musselman said after the game via the Reno Gazette-Journal. “Things happens in basketball and we have to regroup and we have five games left in the regular season and we’ll have to continue to figure out a way.”
Here is a look of the play that caused the Drew injury.
Make no mistake, this is a big loss for the Wolf Pack due to the roster construction by Musselman. Filling in the minutes gap for Drew will be Reserves Josh Hall and Elijah Foster. Hall played 22 minutes and scored five points and four rebounds while Foster saw the court for six minutes and scored two points.
