The Associated Press Top 25 rankings continue to shift by the week. College basketball has been a whirlwind this season of unpredictability, and now there is a new No.1.
Auburn jumped to the top of the list after defeating Georgia and Kentucky in the past week. Gonzaga dropped to No. 2 despite winning eight in a row, including three games with over 100 points.
As far as the Mountain West Conference goes, it is another week with zero teams in the Top 25. However, there is some good news – a couple of new MWC teams entered the Others Receiving Votes category.
Here are the new rankings:

Wyoming and Boise State got some votes this week. The Broncos frustrated SDSU at Viejas Arena in a strange offense struggle for both squads. As for Wyoming, they are 15-2 and 4-0 in MWC play and continue to put together a terrific season.
In the past week and a half, the Cowboys have two victories by two points each – against Utah State and New Mexico. Nonetheless, their only two losses have come against Stanford and Arizona.
The Broncos are 15-4 and 6-0 in conference play, but neither Wyoming or Boise State have yet to play Colorado State. In fact, the Broncos don’t have the Rams scheduled until March 5, although their earlier game against Colorado State was postponed and should be made up at some point.
Ever since Colorado State lost by 30 to the Aztecs, they have been on a roll. The Rams have rattled off four straight victories and play Nevada and UNLV before a massive game against Wyoming next Monday in Laramie.
The Rams are really close to cracking the Top 25 once again, and the next three games should make or break their chances of getting into the bottom portion of the poll.
On the other hand, Boise State and Wyoming face off on Tuesday in Boise, then the Broncos turn around and face a surprisingly good Fresno State team – although the Bulldogs just lost to Nevada.
Things are starting to get interesting in the Mountain West circles, especially after the Broncos shut down the Aztecs on Saturday.
