This season for Nevada Wolf Pack is garnering unprecedented hype and the latest is the Associated Press naming small forward Caleb Martin to its preseason All-American team. Martin is the first the Wolf Pack player to earn this honor.
Martin averaged 18.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game last season, plus he was named the player of the year as well. He also is tabbed to repeat as the best player in the Mountain West.
Add this to another preseason award for Martin who was named to the 2019 Julius Erving Award watch list which recognizes the top small forward college basketball.
As a team, the Wolf Pack enter the season as No. 7 in the preseason AP poll, its highest ranking ever.
Martin is joined on the AP All-American team by Dedric Lawson (Kansas), Carson Edwards (Purdue), R.J. Barrett (Duke), Luke Maye (North Carolina) and Ethan Happ (Wisconsin).
