Why UNLV Will Win
If UNLV is going to have any chance of pulling off the upset on the road they are going to have to be much more effective on the glass. The last time these teams met, a 83-74 Broncos win, the Runnin’ Rebels were out rebounded 48 to 29, with 13 of those 48 being offensive rebounds for Boise. These teams match up very well with each other, and the first meeting was a close game up till the very end. If McCoy and Juiston can step on the glass, and the rest of the team follows suit, UNLV will have a chance to escape Taco Bell Arena with a win. One other thing that will be vital for UNLV, containing BSU star Chandler Hutchinson. He torched the Rebels for 32 points back in January. Containing him and limiting his production is a must.
Why boise state Will Win
The Broncos have the blue print for what it’s going to take to get a win against the Rebels. If they team rebound like they did in the first match up, and get a similar performance from Chandler Hutchinson, they are going to be extremely difficult to beat. Especially on their home floor. And another thing that could work out in their favor, is that the Runnin’ Rebels have struggled slowing down their opponents best players. San Jose State’s Ryan Welage just torched them for 21, and Hutchinson was seemingly unstoppable the last time these teams played.
