This game has a lot of firsts. This is the first game between these two schools and it is also the first time that San Jose State is playing in Levi’s Stadium, which is the home of the San Francisco 49ers.
That makes for interesting optics by playing in such a large stadium where the home team is winless on the year. Couple that with the Bay Area having a decent number of servicemen and women and this could be a de facto home game for the Black Knights on the West Coast.
San Jose State’s offense has shown improvement the past few weeks and if they are going to claim an upset, or even stay close, they will need to take advantage of the few opportunities with the ball. Josh Love will need to be efficient in passing the bally and Tyler Nevens needs to run the ball with force and get points.
The Black Knights will suck the clock dry with its triple-option offense which will be successful this weekend. The Spartans defense needs to limit the big chunk plays and force Army to punt and make that an equalizer on Saturday afternoon.
