Why Air Force Will Win
The Falcons open up their season Sunday with a winnable game against a Sun Belt opponent in Texas State. According to KenPom, Air Force is a home favorite in each of its first four games. Texas State lost a decent chunk of its nucleus from last year’s 22-win team, including leading scorer Kavin Gilder-Tilbury. The Bobcats were just one victory away from the NCAA Tournament last season, but the Academy should feed off of a Veteran’s Day weekend crowd and win the regular season opener. Texas State likes to slow down the pace, which feeds nicely into Air Force head coach Dave Pilipovich’s offensive philosophy.
