Air Force Handles Colorado State 35-21

The Ram-Falcon Trophy can rest easy in what has become a long term assignment in Colorado Springs. Air Force defeated Colorado State 35-21, running their winning streak over their in-state rivals to five.
Colorado State may have a few surefire NFL players, but that meant little as the Falcons jumped out to an early lead, and never relented. In fact, the deficit facing the Rams could have been worse, so 35-21 is actually more flattering a score on the surface if you didn’t take in the entire game.
Noteworthy
Haaziq Daniels may have only connected on four of his pass attempts, but two of them went for touchdowns. One of those tuddies went to Brandon Lewis for an Air Force record, 92 yard strike.
Speaking of Brandon Lewis, he continues to make the most of every touch, chipping in 115 total yards on Saturday. Lewis is also catching the ball at nearly 30 yards per reception.
Brad Roberts quietly keeps doing Brad Roberts things. Another game, another 150 yards on the ground for the Mountain West’s top rusher.
The kicking game reinforced lingering suspicion. Freshman Carson Bay took over punting duties, while Matthew Dapore had a tough day kicking. Dapore missed his only field attempt, which was inside of 40 yards, and to say extra points were shaky early would be flattering. Dapore did seem to get comfortable on the last few kicks after scores, so hopefully that becomes more of the norm.

Trey Taylor got the first of what should be many interception, jumping a route in the endzone to make a beautiful pick. His impact since taking over at safety has been noticible every week. His partner in the seconday, Tre Bugg III got his second interception on the season in the first quarter.
Jordan Jackson proved he can be disruptive over the nose, just as well as when he lines up on the outside of the defensive line. Just more data samples for NFL scouts to recognize Jackson’s versatility.
With the victory, Air Force has beaten the Rams 13 out of the last 15 matchups. A friendly reminder of what program really owns Colorado.
