The quarterback position was to be one of strength with Donald Hammond III but he is not on the roster and likely not going to play for Air Force at all this year. That position lists co-starters with sophomore Haaziq Daniels and junior Warren Bryan.
Bryan saw action in two games last year against Hawaii and San Jose State and Daniels whose only action came in practice as a freshman playing on the scout team. This area will be very inexperienced and something to watch for with the pitches, fakes, and decisions in this offense. The backfield is experienced with Timothy Jackson and Kadin Remsberg.
Outside of quarterback play, the offense looks to be fairly well put in place with a solid offensive line returning and the running backs mentioned in Jackson and Remsberg.
The defense is where there is a lot of concern. Of the five eligible starters on that side of the ball, none are back and there are a likely unprecedented four freshman on the two-deep. So, the Falcons defense will be brand new when they take on Navy.
While the defense seems barren, there is some talent returning. Defensive tackle, Kaleb Nunez, defensive end Micahel Purcell and linebacker Parker Noren have starting experience. Grand Donaldson is an outside linebacker and he was the defensive MVP of last year’s Cheeze-It Bowl.
