Williams was one of a kind.
Colorado State is losing one of its great players from the 2018 as junior wide receiver Preston Williams announced in a heart-filled way via Twitter he is giving up his final year of eligiblity to pursue the NFL Draft.

Williams spent just one year in Fort Collins but he made a major impact on the field. He had 96 catches (first), 1,345 yards (first) and 14 touchcodwns (second), and those numbers were good enough to earn hi first-team all-conference from the Mountain West and our website tabbed him as a first-team member and also newcomer of the year.
His numbers were top three all-time for Colorado State receivers in single-season receptions, touchdowns and also receiving yards.
He started his college career at Tennessee but after two seasons left to the Front Range and it seemed to work out for his development.
Williams is declaring early so finding his ranking for the upcoming draft is not yet out there, so look for analysis, rankings and overall where he could go in the NFL Draft.
Check out this great breakdown of Williams from The NFL Draft Network back in September. Below is taste of what is said about him.
BEST TRAIT – Athleticism
WORST TRAIT – Tracking/Hands
RED FLAGS – Torn ACL while at Tennessee. Served a suspension for an off-season misdemeanor assault charge. Transferred from Tennessee to Colorado State, sitting out the 2017 season.
