Day 2 of the Mountain West conference tournament is quarterfinal games, and it just might be the best day in Las Vegas with the top seeds moving on.

The conference is fighting for six NCAA Tournament bids and right now five seems a good bet via the composite from Bracket Matrix, but the fighting New Mexico Lobos are on the cusp of being in and need to win.

Most have the Lobos among the first four out as of today.

Also, UNLV while the fourth seed, they are not in Bracket Matrix, but in the latest bubble breakdown from ESPN’s Joe Lunardi says the Rebels must beat San Diego State to stay alive for an at-large bid.
