The college football national champion has been crowned with XXXX winning, so of course, eyes are already looking toward the upcoming season.

Everyone has their way-too-early top 25 rankings that are likely to be all wrong. This offseason is a bit different with it being the first full offseason with the one-time freebie transfer rule in place.

Players are moving with the option to play next year, plus there are still going to be plenty of players for the next few years who will have an extra year of eligibility due to the 2020 COVID-19 season which is allowing players to have a free year.

Many national outlets have their early rankings and we will see which ones are giving the Mountain West respect.

The Action Network

This set of rankings has both Fresno State and Air Force in their top 25 at No. 22 for the Bulldogs and the Falcons round out the top 25 in the final spot.

Sporting News

Nope. The Mountain West is shut out.

Dallas Morning News

No team is ranked but San Diego State, Utah State, and Fresno State earned votes.

KSL Sports

Utah State, Fresno State, and Air Force all received votes.

Fox Sports

Mountain West is blanked in these rankings by R.J. Young, but USC and Texas make the cut.

Bleacher Report

Nope.

ESPN

Nothing at all. Yet, they include a 4-8 USC team and a 7-6 South Carolina. Both will have new head coaches and new quarterbacks. The Gamecocks will have Spencer Rattler which is a big deal and the Trojans are likely landing Caleb Williams. Those rankings seem more like projecting well ahead over going with known pieces in place.

Sports Illustrated

Again nothing, also USC is somehow No. 13. Well… at least they don’t have Texas ranked.

Athlon Sports

Fresno State comes in at 27 and then Air Force and Boise State are mentioned as teams to watch.
